ICL Implantable Lens for Vision Correction

An ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) is a thin lens placed inside the eye, in front of the natural lens, to correct high prescriptions without removing corneal tissue. Finland Eye Center offers it at its clinics in Muscat, Sohar and Salalah.

What is ICL?

ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) is a vision correction option for patients with high myopia, hyperopia, or thin corneas who are not suitable for laser surgery.

Benefits of ICL

Corrects high refractive errors
Suitable for some high prescriptions
UV protection
Removable by a second operation if needed

How does ICL work?

1

Pre-Op Assessment: Comprehensive eye measurements and mapping to select the right ICL size for your eyes.

2

Anesthetic Drops: Your eyes are numbed with drops to keep you comfortable.

3

Micro-Incision: A tiny self-sealing incision (3mm) is made at the edge of your cornea.

4

Lens Insertion: The thin, flexible ICL is gently inserted and positioned behind your iris and in front of your natural lens.

5

Final Positioning: The lens is carefully positioned and the incision seals naturally without stitches.
